Old town

Many, many years ago before the islands became home to mega corporations and giant structures. Only a few hundred people lived here. They lived near the coast in simple buildings and lived simple lifes. They had contact to the outside through the scientists that landed on the island.
Now all that remains of these peoples legacy is old town. It definently looks a lot different these days as compared to before the impact. After the impact, the original settlement was of course completly destroyed. It was shortly there after rebuilt in a different style however. Gone were the simple huts and replaced with concrete, brutalistic buildings around 5 stories tall. Some simple smaller buildings are also here, housing restaurants and stores.
In the middle you find Umbioto square a place dedicated to one of the old families that used to live here before the impact.
Old town is very rundown by crime. You will find drug dealing straight up in the open here. Gangs fighting over scraps is a common sight and homeless people lie everywhere. You do best to avoid this area unless you need to get in contact with the underwold of paradise islands.

Old town is owned by Jig Umbioto as he is the only remaining descendant of the people that once lived here. It is unclear why he simply does not sell the area however, since the place these days is run down with crime, poverty, drugs and illegal gambling dens.
If you need to buy an apartment on the islands, this is where you will find the cheapest ones, but for a good reason.
