Shenriism

Shenriism is a light worshipping religion from elendrum. Shenriism is a majority religion in elendrum and several other bordering geographical regions, and in Shengrian Empire colonies in the outlands. Shenriism teaches that light is divine, and the sun is the aspect of their highest god, and that worshipping the sun is the greatest way to honour him. Shenriism's reverence of light means that all of their temples and city are illuminated by a beautiful array of colourful lights that shine forever in honour of their god.

Gods and Important Figures

Shenriism chiefly focuses on the worship of the high creator god Shenri. It also teaches that his wife is the moon and that all of the stars are their children. Shenriism teaches that the day/night cycle is a sacred cycle carried out by the sun and moon gods, and because the sun and moon god are married weddings held by people who follow the religion are adorned with suns and moons to mimic the sun and moon god's sacred marriage.

Worship

Shenriism will actively worship the sun and moon, and a more passive but powerful way that they honour their gods is to adorn all of their cities and roads with countless colourful lights in honour of their gods. Every summer solstice there is a dazzling festival held where countless fireworks are shot up and beautiful lights are shone in the air and worship is held in special regard. An even more important event is the solar eclipse, which is the most important event to the shenrian religion, as they see it as the sun and moon creating a new god. During a solar eclipse, worship similar to that which happens on summer solstice happens, but on a much grander scale. Extremely spectacular and grand light shows are held in major cities and people come from around the world to see them.
