great blooms

Great blooms are areas of the world where a mysterious primal energy seeps up from deep beneath the earth. This primal energy greatly affects plant growth in extreme ways. The energy also seems to stimulate the water, causing to to become extremely clean and even have magical properties, with it being able to heal physical and mental damage, and it also tastes somewhat sweet, although it isn't at all sticky. This water, when absorbed by the plants that thrive in great blooms will cause them to mutate even more.
Great blooms are, for an unknown reason, always found in caves. These caves are always full of rivers, lakes, and waterfalls, and lush plant life. These caves are like winding mazes of tunnels and chambers which are home to mostly unique plant and animal life.

Flora of the Great Blooms

The flora of great blooms is extremely unique. Flora in great blooms tend to possess large leaves and many colourful flowers other structures, and these plants also great in great abundance in great blooms. The most extreme form of plant growth in great blooms in the carnivorous plants. These carnivorous plants are fully motile and possess nervous systems and brains, as well as some things usually exclusive to animals such as internal organs (including a digestive track), as well as complex sensory organs. These plants will usually act as ambush predators that will kill the herbivores that come to the great blooms seeking it's great bounties of enchanted plant life. Another extremely unique path of evolution life in the great blooms is the unique herbivores that hunt the great bloom's carnivorous plants.

Fauna of the Great Bloom

Great blooms support a much higher percentage or herbivores than carnivores. Many herbivores thrive off of eating the rich plant life in the great blooms, and they are often heavily armoured to be able to survive ambushes by carnivorous plants. Another type of herbivore is are the bizarre animals that hunt down the carnivorous plants. These animals, despite being herbivorous possess claws and teeth reminiscent of a carnivore's, but are designed to kill plants not animals.
