Dwarf mammoths are species of mammoths. Dwarf mammoths got their small size due to becoming isolated on island and having to compete over more limited resources. Dwarf mammoths are an example of insular dwarfism. Dwarf mammoths are between 4-6 feet tall (1.2-18 meters), although it varies depending the the island they're on.

Relationship with humans

Dwarf mammoths have always intrigued humans because of them being such a small version of a normally massive animal, and are popular pets for the rich. Dwarf mammoths were popular pets during the time when the Shorian Empire controlled the islands they live on, and took large amounts of dwarf mammoths off of their native islands, although today the population of wild dwarf mammoths on their islands is still large and stable.

range and habitat

Dwarf mammoths are found on small islands south of Merindia and north of Cocar. They probably got to the island when sea levels were lower in the distant past, and became isolated when sea levels rose back up, and became smaller due to more limited resources. The islands that dwarf mammoths inhabit are mostly hilly windswept grasslands, with some having woodlands or mountains.
