Derrenia

Derrenia is continent from the first layer of the outlands, it is further north than most other continents and large parts of the south of the continent are covered in ash from Surthur to the south.

Geography

Most of Derrenia is covered in large forests, but there are some large open grassy areas and there is a tundra to the far north. The southernmost parts of the continent are covered in volcanic ash that drifting from Surthur, to the south. Derrenia has high precipitation all across it and is far enough north so that there are no tropical regions or hot deserts on the continent.

Wildlife

The wildlife of Derrenia is similar to the wildlife of Sundra, but is missing many of the large animals that live there, and generally has much less megafauna, with the largest known animal on the continent being the bison. Fossil evidence also shows that the large animals that are present in the midlands like mammoths and woolly rhinos used to live on Derrenia, but went extinct about 12,000 years ago from unknown causes, although the unusual absence of titan cities on the continent are believed to be involved in some way.

Forest and Plains Animals

The animals that live in the forests and plain of Derrenia are black bears, grizzly bears, bison, wolves, foxes, small birds, deer, elk, mountain goats, cougars, beavers, moose, otters, rams, boars, coyotes, and wild horses.

Arctic Animals

The arctic of Derrenia is home to polar bears, reindeer, arctic foxes, wolves, seals, seabirds walrus, and arctic hares. There have also been reports of lone mammoths in the Derrenian arctic, but these have not been confirmed.

The South

The desolated south of Derrenia has very little life in it, but the few things that are able to live there are burrowing mammals like moles, lizards, snakes, and some birds.
