Awakened in the desert. Twin globes of gold flicker amidst a sandstorm and shine like a bronze sunrise in autumn. The joints creak into motion releasing sand from their crevices. The metallic hand twitch to life and push through the piles of scraps, exposing the semi-translucent skin to the eroding winds. The blue vein-like tubes coursing with fluid light up as the body energizes. The self-healing inner mechanics are still recovering and are vulnerable to the moving sands. The scrap pile was providing cover, but a more permanent and mobile cover is needed. The wagon cover from the caravan should provide the necessary cover to keep excessive amounts of sand from invading the open wounds. It's fashioned into a cloak, which billows in the wind and forms an irregular shadow in the storm. The shadow collects itself and the few scraps neither destroyed by the storm or stolen in the attack. It trudges on through the storm with its prizes from the caravan. As the shadow leaves, the remaining evidence of the wreckage is lost in the growing dunes. The shadow leaves the swirling sands, exposed to the boiling sun, which glistens off the mechanical weaponry crafted during the journey. Although a marvel in its own right, the weapon shines no light upon the technical genius behind the man beneath the shadow. He has a mission to complete, and a past to rediscover.
