Nidari Lifter

although many Nidari are able to manipulate their weight to a greater or lesser degree, this does not extend beyond themselves and is tiring and limited. some individuals, however, learn the ability to manipulate the weight-reducing abilities of Bells to lift large objects in the vicinity of the enormous beasts. ropes are used to guide, especially in strong winds, but the real work of lifting is done using this weight-displacing ability. without the lifters, it would be virtually impossible for Belltop settlements to exist as the effort to raise people and goods to such a height mechanically would be nigh-insurmountable. although "magic" to the eyes of outsiders, in the Reach this is thought of more as a skilled craft, akin to being a blacksmith or scribe. Lifters are trained at numerous locations, but those trained at Highbell are reckoned to be the greatest.
