Were

Weres are a shapeshifting mix of man and beast. Their minds are often just as animal as they are Human , making them very unnerving for more 'civilized' people. This is not to say that they are less intelligent than humans, simply that they think in a different manner; their social structures, opinions of importance, body language, and whatnot are just very different from that of humans. Weres can be recognized in human form easier than in their animal form. They have Tapetum Lucidum in both forms. Their animal form is the same weight as their human form, and may have more dexterous paws than mundane animals. Weres ability to shift their body also grants them extreme cellular regeneration, allowing them to heal faster than humans and even recover from injuries that would cripple a human for life. Weres reproduce either sexually, or by turning a human.

Basic Information

Genetics and Reproduction

Depending on the species, weres produce primarily through either turning humans or sexual reproduction. Pack-oriented weres typically prefer raising babies to dealing with a human's tumultuous transformation. This isn't to say that they won't either bond with and turn a human, or accidently turn a human in self-defense. Less social weres have trouble finding mates, and reproduce more often by turning humans than making babies.

Additional Information

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

Weres have better night vision than humans, as well as a stronger sense of smell. They can often hear a wider range than humans can.
