Human
Humans are one of the most populous animals on the Earth, having settled across every continent and most islands. They're also some of the most peculiar, not only in their tendency to alter the land to suit their needs, but also in their mutability. Humans are both prey and reproductive fodder for certain creatures that live alongside them; vampires Vampire and Weres are capable of turning humans into their own kind. Most humans are largely unaware of this danger, treating the creatures of the night as mere superstition. But some are wising up to the masquerade; forums and subreddits are dedicated to discussing encounters with these creatures, with (often shaky and blurry) videos and pictures shared across the world. Some humans join organizations dedicated to studying or hunting supernatural entities. It's only due to a few sympathetic people in very high places that knowledge of the supernatural isn't commonplace.

Symbiotic and Parasitic organisms
Vampires feed off of humans, but also stay humanity off from it's more short-sighted, self-destructive tendencies. Should humans develop weapons capable of wiping out nations, every trace of those weapons will be mysteriously 'lost'.
Werewolves are often highly aggressive when transformed, although unlikely to kill humans that know how to handle themselves around a wild animal. The bite of a werewolf turns a human into a werewolf.
Wereraccoons generally prefer to mind their own business, but will attack if someone becomes intrusive. Like werewolves, their bite turns humans.
Civilization and Culture
Major Organizations
The 3 major countries in North America are the United States, Canada and Mexico. The US has 50 states and 5 territories, Canada has ten provinces and three territories, and Mexico has 31 states. The US government has high levels of civilian monitoring, and is also monitoring and 'controlling' supernatural activity, with its own monster-hunting agency, MKA, as well as its own occult research group, AASM. INSO is an international supernatural research group that's more popular with creatures of the night.
Major Language Groups and Dialects
Most humans in North America speak english as their first language, followed by spanish. Various other languages are also spoken.
