INSSO
The International Society for the Study of the Occult is a scholarly organization with branches on every continent except Antarctica. It focuses on the study of supernatural creatures and phenomena. It hosts classes in public universities, and even has its own Deer University. It also offers medical services to supernatural creatures, from surgery to treat EBD to therapy to help deal with the problems of (un)life.
Structure
INSSO uses the same titles as modern scholarly organizations, like student bachelor or Ph.D scientist.
Public Agenda
INSSO exists to study the supernatural, and use that knowledge to advance society and improve lives. Experimental subjects are informed of what the goals and methods of the experiment are, and are paid for their assistance.
Assets
INSSO is funded by various Night Courts, as well as through the sale of teaching materials, goods and services. While that funding is by no means inexhaustible, it is quite vast.
History
Founded by Dr. Edgar Swansea, INSSO started as a network between previously isolated occult study groups and lone scholars. As the barriers between the different groups broke down, they unified into INSSO, although some individuals do still consider themselves members of those old groups.
