Magick-Induced Weather

Fury of the fickle temptations from a changed world.

"Your plan was better before nature got involved, kriegmaster!"
— Brapp Dirtgrinder, Wirven Goblin Reckoner.
Magick-Induced Weather is a supernatural phenomenon that can induce extreme changes in weather in a localized area. It has been ruled to be an entirely different condition to any potential effects caused by a Weirding as the localized changes can easily change course and move elsewhere. However, it is believed that magick essence is the primary cause of the phenomenon.   The phenomenon has been observed occurring in parts of the world that would not regularly see such types of weather. It is not limited to any type of change, although monsoons and 'heat storms' are common for this kind of phenomenon.   The effect itself is not dangerous to be caught in, but it is believed that any area affected by a magick-induced weather change is effected by enough magick essence that the area could weird should any more strong magicks be introduced to where the phenomenon first occurs.

Manifestation

Although there is no way of telling how and why this occurs (short of the Cilithorian Elves' claims that the magick essence interacts with the 'life force' of the world on a critical level), magick-induced weather is slow to manifest. Early signs of the phenomenon exist as per usual, such as clouds forming overhead or the air becoming humid. Approximately one or two days later, the effects of the phenomenon will peak. It will then dispel quickly afterwards, taking mere hours or minutes to do so.   The more magick essence is present in the area, the stronger the effect. Small traces of magick essence often yields slight changes to the world, such as small temperature changes or slight winds. Large pockets of magick essence can conjure far greater effects, including strong winds and tornados, monsoons and hailstorms, or even literal firestorms. In some cases, the phenomenon has even been known to indirectly change the qualities of a biological 'gathering'.

Localization

Magick-induced weather can occur wherever there is magick essence. The phenomenon often spans an average of five to ten miles, with the largest known radius spanning an up most of roughly twenty miles. It can last for a few days, or a week at most.   The phenomenon is believed to interact with the natural essence of the world, as magick-induced weather can move along a course (the reasons for the magick itself being able to move has since been debunked as magick, according to the Erd-Honn Dwarves, is 'dense'). In one situation in Sin-Hallodri, the flash freezes typically contained on the tall mountains moved from the top of the Sin-Mordallhitt mountain and froze numerous Dwarves outside the city.
