Hegemony

Structure

The central authority of the Hegemony is the Vaults, themselves organizations with the wealth of worlds. There are currently 29 Vaults, the number is not static (though the addition or subsumption of a Vault is an event of major notice, akin to the anointing of a new monarch). Each Vault is united to the outside world, though their internal politics are quite deadly. The Vaults of the Hegemony track all property and disputes about property within the empire, and as such are the cornerstone of Hegemonic society.
The most important members of each Vault are known as Keyholders of the Vault, with each Vault having first among them a Prime Keyholder.
Each Vault also has an Auditing branch, with its Chief Auditors some of the most feared members of the government.
