High Elves
The majority of high elves are often seen as dainty and delicate, with plenty holding high ranks within city governments. Many would consider them to be the epitome of refined nobility. In the early years of Orywall, Vyxotl assisted in migrating Eladrin warriors from the land of Elliorune to populate and protect young tribes and hamlets.
Several generations later, high elves consider themselves superior, with most displaying their Eladrin heritage proudly. Those who are more in tune with religion think of themselves as connected with their divine god and believe that they'll be resurrected in Elliorune as an Eladrin.
High elves reject newer Dwarven technology in favor of fey magic, stating bluntly that it's merely a way for brutes to push themselves up in the world without any of the effort involved.
Culture
Major language groups and dialects
High elves know Elvish and Common, although in many families it's required to learn at least two other languages outside of their own. Dialects vary in region and ancestry.
Shared customary codes and values
One of the few races of Orywall that still stick closely with their divine gods, high elves are especially religious, following the teachings of Vyxotl even in recent years. They strive to keep the same elegance and graceful demeanor of their ancestors alive. It is desired that high elves are polite, with negative remarks kept to a minimum, if not casually passive-aggressive.
Common Etiquette rules
Courage, intelligence, and purity are upmost desired within high elf societies. Being polite to outsiders is a must, although high elves can be seen as quite distant from other races and preferring keeping to themselves. They're known to keep their children protected and sheltered, preferring to enroll them with private high elf professors within the family.
Common Dress code
Simple clothing and robes are worn, with intricate patterns embroidered into the cloth. Although some enjoy wearing heavy plated armor, designed after their warrior ancestors.
Art & Architecture
High elven artwork is easily spotted amongst the rest, with each painting lovingly crafted with aesthetic and beauty in mind, and their ornate architecture is no different.
Ideals
Beauty Ideals
It is expected of all high elves to maintain themselves regularly, highly valuing wealth and traditional beauty. As such, it is expected for even the poorest of high elves to keep up an identity of nobility and grace. It isn't uncommon for high elves to spend hordes of gold and resources for higher education within the arcanist colleges, as intelligence is admired among all high elves.
Gender Ideals
With men taking high government positions and a patrilineal monarchy set in stone for places like Tottenham, it is to no surprise that they've taken on patriarchal ideals, unlike their egalitarian Eladrin ancestors. Women are ideally professors at universities, researchers, or artisans, while men are expected to take on more physically demanding work.
Courtship Ideals
Arranged marriages are common within most high elf communities, used as a way to strengthen the ties between noble families and acquiring more assets. Relationships with humans are looked down upon. Although dating is uncommon, younger high elves find themselves enjoying the risk of having a relationship outside of their beloved. As such, the standard of arranged marriages is beginning to die out.
Relationship Ideals
Women are expected to maintain relationships with their arranged spouse via various forms of artisanal gifts. It is desired that men should return such affections with wealth and jewelry within the royal family.
