Before the two managed to stand up a small creature appeared from the shadows.

That is no cat said leopaw, its a panther, never seen one of those, thought they were extinct.

Well lets go fetch it then! said Mira, exotic animals fetch a good price.
The three headed down into the cave, following the panther.

The horns

"What the fuck did you do ?!" Leo yelled at me walking at circles anxiously.
"What you thought me you stupid cat!"
"We've been over this I'm NOT a ca-" "Enough" echoed a low voice.
We both turned our head to the familiar sound.
"It is time Blue"
I nodded to Berol and started walking towards the horns.
I opened the room and walked to the appropriate place, in front and above me, two half circles of chairs appropriately nicknamed the horns, every time one of the guards man does something wrong he gets "put on the horns".
I look around, seeing familiar and unfamiliar faces, Leo and Berol, two other captains I did not recognize, Kog and Skanon.
"We will now start trail number 552 of the guard, amm... Blue. Skanon of the dragontail family has called forth this panel on the grounds of misconduct suitable for a man of the guard and assault." Stated Kog while turning to Skanon "M.r Dargontail will you please describe the events"
Skanon stood up, and I noticed he had a large bandage wrapped around his arm all the way to his shoulder. he made a show of having trouble standing.
"You can give your statement while sitting M.r dragontail" one of the captains I did not recognize; a large Loxodon, said.
"T-thank you captain.." Skanon sat down wincing from the "pain".
"A few days ago I went down to the living districts to buy my wife some bread that she adores you see.
For some reason, the merchant refused to sell me anything! saying that he will not sell to the likes of me!
Then this man here came, I assumed to help me as he is a guard after all, but to my surprise he demanded that I leave, saying we "rich folk" aren't welcome in this part of the city. pride hurt, I decided I'l just leave, as there is not need to stay where you are not welcome, but then he grabbed me! pulling me close to he's face and telling me to never come back! then he throw me to the ground, I quickly got up and ran away"
"This is bullshit!" I yelled
"HUSH!" Kog looked furious as he told me to stay quiet.
"Might I ask" Said Berol "There is no shortage of bakeries in our city, much closer to your district too. why go so far to but some bread ? "
"My wife adores the stuff captain, you know you cant say no to a woman, she'l hang me" Skanon said, getting a small chuckle from the captains.
"What do you have to say to yourself Blue?" Kog asked me, Looking as if he has already made up his mind.
"None of this has happen" I stated "Skanon de-" I started saying before The large Loxodon interrupted me "That is M.r dragontail, blue, remember your place."
"Y-yes captain" I said, he nodded "Continue then."
"M.s dragon tail was demanding free bread, I was simply telling him to pay for the merchandise he wanted to leave the store."
Some of the captains chuckled and Skanon burst in to a laugh "Demanded free food? captains please, this man is a liar, next he'l say I broke my arm while begging for coins !"
Kog nodded "Doyle, please read the standard punishments for the three accusations."
The forth captain, Doyle nodded and he flipped trough some pages in a large red book.
"A guard which has been found of misconduct will be dismissed from the guard for the period no longer then two weeks in addition he will be fined 2 gold per day." he took a short stop before continuing.
"For the act of assault against nobility one will be punished in one the following ways: death, explosion from the city or being marked for expeditions. if the latter is chosen then the defendant will also pay an amount to the victim, the amount is up to the descretion of the court."
Kog nodded again, turning his attention back to Skanon "M.r dragontail, I think it's only fair you choose the form of punishment."
"WHAT?!" I heard a squeaky voice come from one of the chairs.
"You've already decided he is guilty?" Leo jumped on the table so we could see him.
"There is nothing to decide" Kog stated "We have no reason to believe blue, he's story is preposterous and the law does state the the word of a noble is higher then any other.
"Still, we cant jus-" Leo stopped as Berol's hand touched he's shoulder.
"Might I suggest something M.r dragon tail?" Berol queried.
"But of course captain"
"I know blue here, and while he might be a bit much at times I can say without a doubt that he is a capable warrior, I think the best course of action, for the city that is, is to mark him for expedition, as you obviously want what is best to the city I'm sure you'l agree."
Skanon had an annoyed look on he's face, But he gave in "Fine, he'l most likely die in a week anyway."
"That is settled then" Said Kog "In addition to this, blue will need to pay a sum of 500 gold coins to M.r dragontail in the form of 20% from each expeditions earnings or more at he's convenience, is anyone disagreeing with this ?"
Leo was about to open he's moth but a look from Berol stopped him.
"Well then, dismissed."

The Patrol

I swear been around these streets for a thousand times by now. Living quarters again... I swear Kog hates me for some reason.

As I entered the place I the smell of fresh bread made me smile, Pit might not be much, but he sure knows his bread.
"What's going on Pit?" I asked as I already knew, next to him stood Skanon dragontail, the worst of the worst.
"This man here demands I bring him free bread or he'l close my business!" Shouted Pit, clearly at his wits end.
"Look at this as an investment, you do what I say and you get to do this thing to call baking..."
"Way do you even want he's bread Skanon? you could get some near your house at the high-class district" I asked.
"My wife says i'ts one of a kind and demands to have it" he said with a disgusted look on hes face. "But I will not pay for anything from this Filthy retched place!! I have standards."
I rolled my eyes, tired from the situation.
"Well Skanon, I'm sad to inform you the the law does not care about your standards, either pay Pit here or leave he's shop"
Skanon opened his moth to replay, but slowly closed it hes it formed a smile.

Garduation
It's finally the day.
The ceremony was too long, Nora and I almost fell a sleep and I swear Koro did.
Even Night was bored, she kept playing with my feet under the chair.
They made Kog the new captain of the guard after Edgar died.
They say it was his ninth life. Leo says that's bullshit. "This will not go down quietly!" or something.
In any case, tomorrow we're officially city guards, patrolling the streets and making sure every thing is safe!
The training
I HATE Kog, he is always laughing at me! he's my teacher! Leo says teachers supposed to help you! not make you feel bad!
