Hui-San Empire
"We are Sapien, we are eternal." - Hui-San Empire Motto
The Hui San Empire is a sovereign nation located on the southern side of Eastern continent. The Hui-San empire is universally considered the dominant geopolitical force on the Eastern continent, and perhaps the one most intensely involved in the politics and affairs of the Western powers.
History
The Hui-San arose to prominence as the burgeoning city-state of Gankou seeked to expand its power base. Gankou's proximity to Western trade granted it access to assets which granted it a military and logistical edge of it's neighboring powers. Eventually, the city state of Gankou was consolidated into the Hui-San Empire and annexed and integrated the majority of powers on the west-side of the eastern continent. Following it's vassalization of the Monsol Khanate, the Hui-San set it's sights upon the port-city of Karsmouth, instigating the Great Hemispheric War.
Demography and Population
The people of the Hui-San empire are extremely diverse and come from a range of different local cultures and backgrounds. The population of the Empire consists of many of the races common throughout Orbis Mundus, as well as many which are unique to the Eastern continent. Humans constitute roughly 30% of the Empress' adviser counsel.
Territories
The Hui-San empire controls the western half of the Eastern Continent. A mountainous, fertile and warm region, the territory of the Empire has allowed it to grow and defend itself to an extent which is unfounded in the Western Continents.
Military
The Hui San empire enforces a strict conscription upon it's citizens. All citizens are expected to serve in the Armed Forces whence they come of age, and serve the government directly for at least 10 years, whether that be in the military or a bureaucratic position. For this reason the Hui-San are hardly short on manpower. Their integration of many cultures also allowed the Hui-Sani Military access to a slew of experimental weaponry and technology which it utilizes heavily in it's conquests.
Foreign Relations
The Hui-San it would seem has seeked to soften the impact of it's aggressive expansion in the Eastern Continent following the vassalization of the Monsol by establishing trade dealings and pacts with the far Eastern territories. Despite signing a ceasefire with the Kingdom of Karvin in 613 c.e. relations with the state are still very much hostile. Many on both sides are concerned that conflict may resume between the powers soon.
