Kellevhir
The Kellevhir; Elves of the Sun
Naming Traditions
Unisex names
For all genders, names centered around the sun - featuring the root kelles - are seen as incredibly auspicious. There are no typical rules for gendered naming.
Family names
Family names often end in -eth, -in, or -on. Multiple family names are seen as a sign of high status, and taking more than three names as a commoner is seen as greatly disrespectful.
Other names
It is common for youth to be given "child names" - simple names that often bear elemental or natural meanings. A new "adult name" is taken when a child reaches adolescence, or any time thereafter. These names usually hold more meaning or personal significance, and are most often chosen as a joint effort by the family. A youth may choose to keep their child name in some circumstances.
