Kiki starfleet

There is no joint fleet for the Kiki - every tribe maintains their own standing force, and sections of fleets are combined into a joint task force for the largest operations. Command structures may be complex and chaotic in joint operations. While any military force ultimately must submit to the decrees of the Eight Tribes Council, compliance takes time and in practice negotiations are at the bilateral level of tribe to tribe. This leads to the occasional heated discussion and sometimes even blackmail.   The following is a short review of each fleet's capabilities. A full account of each tribe's military may be found linked to the Eight Kiki tribes wiki article.   Pazfevar military arguably has the strongest starfleet of all Kiki. Like many others, they suffered heavy losses in the Succession War, but they rebuilt on top of their strong power basis. If they lose to the Kaskadar in technology, they pull ahead again with their numbers and heavy units. Although their oldest cruisers are said to date back to the first century after the Succession War, many of their ships are reasonably modern. In fact, maintenance and modernization of their massive, powerful fleet makes it the most expensive one in Kiki space.   [Kaskadar] have generally the best technology in their fleets, and the number of their vessels is considerable as well. A smaller fleet than the Pazfevar one, they however have been building up heavily over the last century, allowing their ships to capitalize on generous energy budgets thanks to the antimatter revolution.   [Staggare] have a sizable fleet as well, though weaker than the two prominent ones, despite them owning a rather large portion of the Eight Tribes Empire's planets. Their large command carriers are an impressive sight, and form the backbone of their fleet in many roles including logistics. While logistics are a strong point of the Staggare, they have some gaps in other capabilities - and even their large freighter fleets operate predominantly on fusion power. Although their fleets are some of the best supplied, they are less mobile and the emphasis of their strategy is a heavy concentration in key defensive points.   [Jigofarr] fleet while somewhat smaller, is still a strong one. Although the Pazfevar ships may be the proudest, it is the Jigofarr that are some of the most well equipped. No cost was spared when building their top tier vessels - a Jigofarr battlecruiser is a powerhouse of energy and electronics systems, armaments, defenses and well drilled crews running ship systems and internal logistics. They also have plenty of well-armed, dependable destroyer class ships to protect every reach of their space.   [Plakhamat] are somewhat in between when it comes to star fleet capacity, but they do have certain definite strong points. Their escort groups are highly capable, but they also have strong fire support sections, including the larger missile platforms. They even sport a couple of brand new battleships that compare to the other tribes with little to be ashamed of. Many of their better ships are actually built by the Kaskadar.   Hekremeht fleet is well supplied with smaller ships although their frigate fleets are famous. Their task forces tend to be highly mobile and well suited to reconnaissance. Despite restrictions placed by the Eight Tribes Treaty in historic times, their overall fleet capacity today is nearly comparable to the Plakhamat. Rebuilding the fleet has tasked the tribe's economy, and often the choice was made to use shared designs with the Pazfevar or Plakhamat tribes.   [Stakfremer] provide a smaller fleet than the size of their tribe would suggest. Their ships are seen seldom as they operate in their own separate areas of the frontier. Stakfremer seem to focus on reconnaissance and logistics tasks, with strategies that are highly mobile in context of Kiki starfleet doctrines and emphasize hit-and-run attacks with a high element of surprise.   [Kilefti] really have more of a trade fleet than an actual fully fledged space force - they still have numbers of lighter ships to provide escort to any risky supply run. Much of their freighter and transport fleets operate on the power channel, making them express freighters - a sign to the careful observer that antimatter technology is well accessible to the tribe. When it comes to flexibly supplying small task forces or remote depots, the Kilefti fleets are the best for the job. Largely thanks to their newly found prosperity in recent centuries, they have amazed all by building one smallish vessel of mothership class, which is reported to be in a highly operable state.
