Shadow Mephit
A variant subspecies of the standard elemental Mephit, The shadow mephit is one that formed from the presence of dark magic. it's chest possess the heartless insignia, and appears to belong to both species groups. this is an example of 'world-specific' heartless, those that form fully adapted to the universe they inhabit.

Anatomy
Similar to other mephit species (most notably the smoke mephit) but is slick black and oil-like in physiology.
Ecology and Habitats
Very dark environments, such as caves. sometimes found wandering towns at night, coming from abandoned buildings.
Dietary Needs and Habits
They ingest dark magic to sustain themselves.

Umbra breath (recharge 6). The mephit exhales a 15-foot cone of dark mana. Each creature in that area must succeed on a DC 10 Dexterity saving throw or be blinded until the end of the mephit's next turn.
