Thunk the Skullcracker

Tolme Holm was a clever halfling who was walking by a river one day. He let out a loud yawn and found a tree under which he could take a nap a short ways down the river. A little while had passed when a loud noise woke him. A large angry ogre was walking the other side of the river back toward Tolme's hometown. He knew he could sneak past or hid. But Tolme knew his people might be hurt or worse. He began to search the bank for a good rock to shoot off. Soon his hands found a rock, hard and heavy, oblong with a sharp edge. He pulled his sling, and with a quick spill once, twice, and thrice, he sent the stone launching at an astounding speed. A light whistling pierced the air and thunk, the stone had crashed edge first into the back of the ogre's skull punched though and landed a few feet passed. Tolme recovered the stone and took it with him. He kept it with him every day and it slew many dangers to him and his people until it passed to another as a gift.
