The Shortsword Rebellion
The Start of the Mirillian Conflicts
This rebellion was the war that led to the founding of the Adirilian Kingdom. The Shortsword rebellion was started by a man named Hildemar Shol, a civilian leader in the Misoren City of Arkerzun, after The Schism and the Collapse of the Misorens that followed it. It was called the Shortsword rebellion because it was said at the time that Self-proclaimed King Hildemar would not use any weapon bigger than a shortsword to fight his foes. The Shol Crest Has two shortswords crossed behind it as a reflection of this. Shol's forces first took the nearby Misoren outpost, the now abandoned Fort Ernmore, in a night assault. The Rebels siezed Misoren weapons and headed south, taking Elmsford and Fort Kera (Now the Azure Bastion). From there, the rebels split forces, and Hildemar left half of his forces in the command of a General Erhart Friso . General Friso took to the west, taking Fort Dixic and stopping in Alfield, which surrendered without a battle. King Shol fought his way east, eventually taking Kannisport, the Fort at Hazelcrest, and Ribile. These Campaigns took place over eight years. Shortly after this, the Misoren Remnant in The Mirillian Fields surrendered, and their leadership fled the Fields, eventually establishing Yeltorn. This is not the most accurate or detailed summary, this is just the cliff notes. The Conflict

The Sundering occurred the same year as the beginning of the Rebellion, leading to the decline of The Misoren Empire. After losing their homeland, the Misoren Imperials in Dramari strengthened their control over the people of The Mirillian Fields and began attempting to suppress Magic use, which lead to small insurrections around the Mirillian Fields. Hildemar Shol, Leader of the rebellion, lost his parents to Misoren soldiers, as they were practicing mages.
