History
They met on one of the evenings that Ayluin had managed to escape the castle and went to the local inn of Saela. At the time that Ayluin entered, covered in a hooded cloak to avoid being recognized, Jules was on stage singing his songs and telling several stories of his adventures beyond Odoraen's misty shores. Ayluin took a liking to his stories and had heard him before. But this evening was different, the elf would ask Jules to join him after his show and when the man was done and met Ayluin behind the inn, that was the first time that he realized the one always in the front of his performances was actually the crown prince of Saela. The two met up several times after that and from those rendezvous a mutual affection sprouted. It didn't take very long before the two were an item and Ayluin would frequently escape the castle to meet with him. The relationship was strong, but sadly not long-lived. When Ayluin's father found out that his adoptive son was secretly meeting a Bard, worst of all: a human that traveled to much and might learn Ayluin's real history, he commanded his guards to end the man's life. The guards were given their orders and they went to Saela in search of this bard. He wasn't hard to find since everyone knew him. They lured him away from the crowds saying they had a message from Ayluin and when they were out of earshot, they murdered the man in cold blood. Ayluin never did find out who was behind it, but he was distraught to find out his beloved had been murdered. He has yet to recover from the loss, but his journey keeps him on his feet as he travels to the abandoned woods that once held the proud moonelf capital.

They shared the love for music and adventure. Or more like Jules' adventures with Ayluin's wanderlust. Though he was never able to join Jules on his adventures, Ayluin was always the first to hear his newest experiences. They also shared their love for magic, nature and animals. Despite being human, the bard actually loved the moon as much as Ayluin does.
Shared Secrets
Their relationship in a whole. Jules never dated anyone else while he was Ayluin's boyfriend, but the public knew no better or Jules was simply not looking. Ayluin also shared the secret with him who he truly was, or thought he was as he didn't know about the moonelves back then. Jules also shared the locations of the portals he used with Ayluin.
History
The king, as Ayluin recently found out, has been lying to him his entire life. While he claimed and raised Ayluin as a highelf, he in truth murdered Ayluin's family, the royals of the moonelves, and many other moonelves. He has always acted like a father to the young man but that was all a smokescreen for the horrible truth. When Ayluin found out what he had done, his relationship with the man broke apart completely and the King dropped all pretenses towards Ayluin as well. It had been a feigned father-son relation and it turned into a 'obey me or I'll get rid of you too' familiarity. After Ayluin left the castle and fled Saela in general, the King took down anything that reminded of a prince ever living in the castle, much to the queen's desperation, though she helped the boy to escape. To her Ayluin really had been as a son. He even sent a group of men after the moonelf to either capture him or kill him. Whichever works out the best for them.
Relationship Reasoning
The King needed an heir so when his son died, he stole the son of the moonelves which was born the same night as his own, with ruthless force. He got rid of all of Ayluin's relatives to limit the chance of them coming to look for him and the few moonelves that remained escaped into the woods. For Ayluin, at least until the night he learned the truth, the man really had been as a father.
