Humans

Humans are like the ants of Oblitros. They are everywhere, they are plentiful, and they are never in short supply. Unlike elves, dwarves, or orcs, humans can be found everywhere and anywhere. They are friendly, they are welcoming, and they are always ready to lend a hand. Humans were the first species to be known to everyone on Oblitros, and were the founding species of the city of Salenee, the hub for all inter-species interactions that take place. Humans are notorious for their monopoly on trading, trading routes and inter-species trading deals. Always prepared to make new friends, humans are the peacekeepers.   They will be busy in times to come.

Basic Information

Anatomy

Humans come in all shapes and sizes on Oblitros, although magic has efected them in some interesting ways. Some humans have interestingly coloured birthmarks and freckles- sliver, gold, blue, pink, bright red, and copper are all seen, with green, purple, and iron are more uncommon. The marks come from influx of magic on that particular person- wither it be because they are a mage, grew up around mages, or their family has a history of magic, the marks can show up.

Additional Information

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

Some magic-touched humans have better senses than ones who have not been affected by magic, but any extrasensory capabilities are temporary. All humans have the capacity for magic, and anyone can easily read a spell-book, but being a mage isn't as simple as saying a few words. Most magic is genetic, and must be passed down through families (hence why most mages have marks on their body). There are a few people who can train to gain the gods favour, or otherwise access the potential for magic that is genetically locked in them.

Civilization and Culture

Interspecies Relations and Assumptions

Humans are diplomatic with every known species. Their best relation is with the elves, who are far more friendly than one might expect from their faces. Humans and elves get along very well, and view each other as equals. Dwarves are also friends of the humans, although they keep a little more to themselves. Dwarves prefer the mountains, living high on their cold peaks, and isolating them a little more. Dwarves think humans are fragile, but admire their finesse in trading. Orcs and humans have a very strained relation. Humans think orcs are strict, and narrow-minded, while orcs think humans are reckless and unguarded. Orcs are a rare species to see, and are nomadic in nature. They get along much better with elves.
