Slice Between the Earth

Slice Between the Earth is the Hoglish name for a canyon at the edge of Dreagor and in the Hogfolk territory. It is an especially dangerous and  place to go, and adventurers in search of treasure or glory often train and adventure there. It is infested with Lesser Deathworms and more than a few skeletons, but also with an entire town of adventurers. Quite a few shopkeepers and small businesses have started and made home in this adventuring town, and it is a profitable place to live. The reason many adventurers have stayed and made home there is for two reasons: One, skeletons and Lesser Deathworms make for good practice and caves in the canyon sometimes contain loot, and two, a dungeon lives inside the canyon. As many know, dungeons are a profitable source of loot and weapons, as well as being a great adventure for new and old adventurers. The Hogfolk really don’t mind all the adventures, just as long as they don’t intrude on their city.

Geography

The canyon itself is about 350 yards wide at the widest point, and 400 feet deep at its deepest. The adventurer’s town consists of several hanging bridges and platforms built into the side of the canyon, around 70 feet down accessed by a stone staircase chiseled into the side of the canyon wall. Several caves are accessed via these bridges, and several more accesses points to the cave system can be found further down. Speaking of, there is a massive cave system beneath the sand that enters only through the canyon. Several reanimated skeletons roam the caves, as well as some lesser Deathworms and other assorted desert beasts. But the biggest adventuring attraction and/or death trap is the Dungeon that lurks in the expansive cave system.

Natural Resources

As many know, dungeons create their dungeon creatures, their traps, their rooms, but they also create their loot. It has to come from somewhere of course so it usually comes from the gear of other dead adventurers. The older the dungeon and the farther you get inside, the better loot you find. This makes dungeon a valuable replenishing source of loot and gear.

Tourism

A lot of adventurers come to this place to train and gather loot, and some come to try and kill the dungeon. The adventurer’s town has a decent inn as well as some shops to buy food and supplies. It is not recommended to visit the canyon if you are not an adventurer or lack appropriate gear, as it could be dangerous, both in traversing the desert and in fighting any monsters you might encounter.
