Floobapen

Any trickster worth their salt will have a Floobapen in their toolkit. A Floobapen is a magical writing utensil that can take the form of any writing utensil, but will force the user to write or say incorrect words, or 'Flubs' as they are sometimes known as.
Any magic use who knows spells similar to Disguise Self and Modify Memory can spend a week imbuing any writing utensil with these spells. These particular spells tend to be most commonly used since they're relatively low level and work effectively. Other similar spells have been tested over the years with mixed results. The Transmutation spells don't usually have any significant pros and cons, however some Floobapens have been imbued with higher level spells such as Weird, Glibness, Power Word Stun, and, in one particular instance, Flesh to Stone.
Because these items are mostly used by tricksters, tricksters are often the people who create these items. As such, buyers should be wary that these roguish types don't imbue the items with different spells for their own amusement. Buyers should beware of the seller and try to gauge their integrity before making a purchase. Generally people who purchase Floobapens do no like to answer questions about their intentions and will become wary of the seller, believing they are trying to blame them for a future crime or use them for their own goals.
While Floobapens are not illegal, they are often confiscated if found by guards since it can be hard to know what spells have been imbued into the tool. It is not uncommon for a Floobapen to end up in the hands of a local noble during an important meeting, causing them a great deal of embarrassment with their flubs causing concerns over their mental capacity. The most common use for Floobapens, however, is to prank friends and colleagues.

Manufacturing process

An appropriate magic user must spend a week to imbue the writing utensil with two spells: Disguise Self and Modify Memory
