So the Son came down to Matar and visited each family, singing an anthem of hope.
So the thirteen families of the kindred, many of whom were separated from one another by miles of new mountains, wept bitterly for the loss of their mist-cloaked valley. They looked far and wide and though Nov Matar was a fair land with many wonders, it was not so comfortable as their home of old. The Archenlord saw this, and saw that their plight was hopeless and had compassion on them. So the Son came down to Matar and visited each family, singing an anthem of hope. First His song encouraged them, singing of the pillars and the power they had to make their environs bountiful and new, like pieces of the mist-cloaked vale they once knew. Then He emboldened their hearts by singing of what they could accomplish, of building mighty strongholds about the pillars and protecting all of Nov Matar from the dark forces beyond. he visited each family and taught them many things, and helped them to leave behind the lifestyles they had before. They would have to work to clothe themselves, to shelter themselves against heat or cold, to feed themselves, and so on. He spent a full year moving among the families, teaching and encouraging them. The people spent that year learning to build tools, fashion clothing, gather food, etc. Once it was over the Son left them with a final song of encouragement. The peoples dispersed to seek the pillars. The story of their dispersion can be found in 02 - First Migrations. The story of the first nations they formed can be found in 03 - Lay of the First Civilizations.
