Umbar

If you were fool enough to dig straight down, and had the manpower, engineering and wealth to dig for miles, and had the capacity by might or magic to withstand the growing heat, you might find that one day in the far future, while you were digging deep, deep into the earth, beyond the roots of Heartstone and the foundations of the mountains, that you might break through into another world. You would fall perhaps a mile or more to a surface of living lava, burning sulfur and pools of boiling crude. And you would wish, before plummeting to the bottom and becoming a permanent denizen of the place, that you would not have dug so much as a foot into the ground. Umbar is the realm of darkness, the home of the unfaithful dead and the domain of Iarax and The Fallen.

Geography

Umbar is a realm not fully documented by the pens of the Kindred, and few wish to know much about it. Suffice it to say it is a subterranean realm of sulfer and fire where no thing grows or flourishes besides the hateful brooding of Iarax and his twisted minions.
