Pillar of the North Wind

On the northernmost tip of Nov Matar amidst the glacier-blanketed lands, there sits the Pillar of the North Wind, one of the eight Pillars of Heaven. About ten feet across at the base and a hundred feet high, the pillar is rough-hewn out of what looks like pure violet amethyst. The Pillar glows a soft violet light but whats more, it projects a shell of warmth and life around it such that plants of many kinds can be planted there and flourish within sight of the Pillar, and it was ever a comfortable refuge in that land blasted with icy winds.
