Droot (D-r-oo-t)

Amphibian-like beings that were slaves for the Elves also. The Dargen are Droods who lived in the swampy forests of northern Idesseoa. They look like frogs and build huts in the swampy waters. They are usually primitive as the swamps of Idesseoa were filled with beasts that hunted them for food. The Drugen are Droods who lived in the southern lands of Idesseoa. They looked like salamanders and were slaves to the Vud elves for years. The didn't usually live for long about 30 years in human times but, if given the oppertunity they could live for 80 years. (If you seen the mandolorian they are kinda like that salamander species there).

Basic Information

Anatomy

Droots have 2 arms and 2 legs. At first, they look like dwarvern-sized frogs and salamanders. They aren't really strong and they need to bath in water at least every 2 days to keep from drying up.

Biological Traits

The average Droot lives to be in its 30s. but, if given the chance, could live for 80 years. They average at around 3 ft tall and weigh 88 Lbs.

Genetics and Reproduction

The Droots give birth like frogs and salamanders. The mother stays near the egg to protect them as the father hunts for food.

Growth Rate & Stages

The first stage in the Droots actual life is the tadpole. The tadpole stage is where they eat small bacteria or fish and only live in the lakes or in jars it lasts for around 2 years . The next is the Dreggar, it is the stage where they start eating larger fish and grow legs and arms, this stage lasts for 6 years. The 3rd stage is the Treggar, it is the part when they are fully developed but still have their tales (for dargen) and have a bright color (for drugen), these are teens in the Droots eyes, this stage lasts for 15 years. the next stage is adult, It is the time where the Droot loses its tale (dargen) or get their darker colors (Drugen), this stage lasts for 29 years. The final stage is elderly, it is the part where the Droot gets grey, black, or white, this stage is everything after 30 years.

Ecology and Habitats

Most of the Droots lived in the swampy land in the north of Iddesseoa. The Drugen live in the tropical rainforest in the south.

Biological Cycle

Droots hibernate for around 2 months of the winter.

Additional Information

Geographic Origin and Distribution

They live across the region of Iddesseoa but are commonly found in the north and south.

Average Intelligence

The average Droot isn't really intellegent. There are some that are considered "geniuses" in their culture but really have the same I.Q. as a 9 year old child.

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

They have amazing night vision and are sensitive to movement because of the dark swampy forest they live in.

Civilization and Culture

History

They started settling the lands in 245 YBC and lived peacfully in the north while the others were slaves in the south. The Dargen were found by the Vud elves in 1 YSC and declared war. The war of the trees killed a lot of the species but they weren't enslaved because 14 years later the Vud decided that they weren't going to enslave people. During the great freezing in 551 YSC, the droots were given shelter, wood, and food by the Vud elves to survive. This help some survive but they weren't able to save all of them, around 4,000 out of the 12,000 Droots died from the cold.

Interspecies Relations and Assumptions

At first they didn't get along with the Vud elves but they eventually became allies in wars. When the humans came they both stood together in case they tried to destroy their lands.
