The Era of Myths

Summary

When Niophus allowed the bear god Odun to settle on his world, the minor god chose one of the medium size continents and named it after himself.
Over time other minor gods settled on this continent as well and they managed to live in relative peace with each other.
Thanks to the lack of major wars and the nature affinity of most minor gods on the continent, the lands of Odun became rich and fertile, with dense and populated forests and valleys, as well as great and majestic mountains.
But the peace was broken when the Empire of the Sun started their invasion from the south.
Where the godkin used tools of wood and stone, the Empire's soldiers used weapons of iron, where the godkin summoned their powers over nature, the Empire's priests brought down the fires of their god. Even when the mighty gods of Odun joined the battlefield, the Empire answered by sending even greater numbers.
After 300 years of war, the southern parts of the continen were unrecognisable. The dense forests were leveled for resources, the great mountains demolished and made into fortresses, the fertile fields were drenched in blood.
The surviving minor gods decided on a desperate plan for survival.
While a small number of each race would run and hide in the mosly untouched northern parts of the continent, the majority of each race, including their gods, would launch one Final Battle against the Empire's stronghold. If they win they would cripple the Empires operations, but all of them knew they stood little chance against the power of the mana crystals.
But they will fight till their last breath and hope that if all of them die, the Empire would be tricked to think that all godkin became extinct, saving the lives of those few that hid in the north.
After a legendary battle that shattered the land, the god's plan succeeded. All of the attacking godkin and gods died in the field, but in the process inflicted tremendous casualties to the Empire's forces. After a battle of such magnitude and seeing that none of the godkin tried to escape, the Empire believed that they successfully exterminated the godkin of the continent and changed their policy from invasion to colonisation. Fortresses changed into towns, soldiers changed into civilians and only a handfull of Inquisition hunters ventured north.
The Era of the Sun has began.
