The Flare
The Flare is a Fundamental, something that always has been and something that will always need to be, in order for life to exist in Nikrea. Its lavas can be seen from anywhere above ground during the day. For the Flare itself is what creates day. When its beacon meets the summit of the Sky thousands of miles in the air, the explosion warms the continent.

Emperor Mountain
It is not the highest peak within the Brimstone Wastes, but legends confess that Emperor Mountain's magma stems down as far as its lava blasts into the Sky, and nobody has been close enough to compose a better speculation. As the Flare's base Emperor Mountain is only tepid enough to scorch the land for miles, so its fever - while causing the area to be utterly uninhabitable for life - is nothing compared to the Skybreak's.

The Skybreak
Estimated by the Great Sages of Astria to be somewhere around ten thousand miles above, is the point where Flare's wrath meets the top edge of Sky. A blinding golden ball of near-omnipotence, with fury that bombards Nikrea's face in three ways when it blazes: Its light shines bright enough to single-handedly illuminate all the lands, its radiated heat warms the world out a barren, frigid tomb, and its thunders would make hearing impossible without the Roar Barriers' protection.
