Session 5e
General Summary
- The doors open to reveal an entry hall, the decorations functional but not gaudy. Spirit lights (continual flame spells) illuminate the room with a soft silvery blue light, reflecting off stained glass windows. Ahead, upon a dais, is a large statue display of four humanoids surrounded by a serpentine dragon.
- In front of the dais is a small table with refreshments. There is cold green tea and a pot of strong rice wine with five glasses, in addition to various snacks (rice crackers, sweet and savory pastries, and spicy dried peas). There is a sign that says “Help yourself, don’t be greedy.”
- Silas eats pea
- Spicy Pea: fire resistance 1 hour, 1 use of fire breath* *Bonus action, one target, 10 feet, DC 13 Dex, 2d6 fire or ½.

- Lei manages to climb up and ties the rope off for the party to climb up to the second floor.
- The second floor has 4 corridors branching out as well as a spiral staircase going up.
- The party fails to agree on a path forward
- Kang and Silas start climbing the stairs
- Ping and Lei walk down the north corridor
- They find a door labeled “Books & Stuff” (in Draconic) and when Lei tries the door she falls sound asleep.
- Ping enters the room, reads some poetry, steals some parchment, and copies a recipe for a Talisman (scroll) of “Silvery Barbs”
- Kang and Silas climb to the 3rd floor and wait 30m for the rest of the party to catch up. They find a nice sitting area to wait in.
- Ping carries Lei down a different corridor and tries the door at the end. She is suddenly blinded by a searing light.
- Ping sits on the floor next to Lei’s unconscious body and waits.
- After 30m Kang and Silas ascend the stairs until they find a wall of light blocking their way. Next to it is a cracked crystal plate and a broken metal bird
- Kang and Silas turn around and descend back to the second floor looking for Ping and Lei
- They look down the south corridor and find a door labeled “Building Supplies”(Draconic)
- Kang kicks the door open, releasing a gas which puts Silas to sleep
- Kang shakes Silas to wake him up, which fails. Then he punches Silas awake.
- They decide to take nothing from the building supplies
- Kang and Silas then return to the stairs and take the east corridor where they find Ping and Lei
- The party takes the Tinker’s Tools
- Ping’s vision returns
- The party ascends to the 3rd floor and spots a skittering construct, which stands at the end of the western corridor, hissing at the party. Kang chases it and the party follows until the construct, feeling threatened, becomes hostile.
- After dispatching the construct, the party wandered down to the end of the corridor, following the smell of delicious food.
- They come to a door with a sign that reads “Kitchen”. Inside, Kang notices a small fire elemental inside the stove, heating the pans; he feeds it an eggshell.
