Quondam Tree
When a tree that has lived long enough (several centuries at least) and gathered up enough ambient aura to enter a higher state of being, it Awakens into what is called a "quondam tree" and develops a spirit. The silver and purple trees in the north of Sanctum Hollow are most likely to create a such a tree and the Wolf Clan guards them well. It is usually not easy to tell an ascended tree from a normal one, but some say there is a secret to it.
Further, these trees can bear spirit fruit and they leave behind a valuable, powerful Soultrace when they die.
According to some stories, the oldest of such awakened plants could even speak or take human forms.
