Personal history

Hatched into a rural neighborhood as an only child, Ripta was known by her friends and neighbors as a polite, hardworking young lady. She would work long hours on her own farm, seemingly showing little interest in socialization.
At home, however, Ripta was subject to emotional and physical abuse from her father, who would repeatedly criticize, berate, discourage and beat her. Ripta was lead to believe his intentions were benevolent, meant to toughen her up for the world. Her mother was highly passive and suffered from the same type of abuse as Ripta did, rarely intervening or defending her daughter.
At some point, Ripta took an interest in robotics, studying foreign books and using what little money she could scrape up to buy supplies from the local merchants. Her father disapproved of her actions, ensuring her that she was nothing above average. Ripta continued to obtain info regarding machinery discreetly.
When she turned 70 Kites (approximately 14 human years), Ripta sent applications to the far away universities in the big cities of Frulukibu. She realized that staying in Kii-ibosak was no longer an option, escaping her impoverished environment as a hitchhiker. When Ripta finally arrived at Yokubar State University, she demonstrated all that she had learned over the years in an attempt to win over the instructors. She was rejected, both due to her lack of experience as well as the absence of any type of records. This failure devastated Ripta, who, unable to remain in Yokubar, was deported back to her home country on 11921 KO, where she found her father, smug as ever. Ripta was once again employed by her father, who had been buying more land for the past.
Sometime later, Ripta uncovered a boy around her age passed out in the woods, his Meret killed and his legs broken. She brought him to her home, using what little money she could scrape up to afford a modern medic. When the wounds were healed, he introduced himself as Karnsei Yoorus.

Mental Trauma

As Ripta was heavily abused, discouraged and criticized as a child, she developed an unhealthy obsession over wealth, power and success; everything her father openly believed she would never obtain. Stemming from this consistent preoccupation, Ripta has unintentionally adopted a plethora of his abusive tendencies, such as criticizing others in order to "toughen them up", passing this off as simply giving them a taste of reality. Additionally, she has a very low self-esteem, manifesting itself as narcissism, outright rejecting the idea of her being anything less than perfect.
