The Rindin

The Rayless Age was a time of suffering, fear, and hatred. As the war raged on, each race became more and more aware of how many dwarves, elves, and dragonborn were dying. However much hate there was between the dwarves and dragonborn and the elves, they all knew that each race was enduring horrific losses. This did not stop the cruelty of the elves, the rage of the dwarves, or the silent assassinations of the dragonborn.   In the final year of the war when the Falling Stars Festival came, the dwarves and elves forced an assembly together and decided between themselves that for this one night, they would celebrate the festival together, taking a break from the hatred and bloodshed. For a short time, the dwarves would mingle with the elves, forgetting their woes and tidings of war. On that day a great tent was set up and those who were wounded and sick from the war would come and be treated by Nestedir's greatest healers.   Sorcerers, wizards, and physicians from the dwarves and elves gathered together and healed a number that has been lost as the years passed. The works and feats that were done in that tent were miraculous. Many years later, a witness said that, "the tent was surrounded by a strange aura as the healers cast their spells and mixed their potions. You could feel a change in the air as you walked by and I do not think such powerful magic has been used since the Wipeout. There would be screams of pain but then a strange, peaceful silence; and you would realize that the said screamer had recovered, for the dead that came out of that tent was few and far between." This tent was named the Rindin, after the great dwarf healer who organized it. The Rindin is remembered with a bittersweet memory because of the evil that happened after, for the dead were few as the elves had planned.
