Park Point Rummage Sale
The Park Point Rummage Sale began in the late 20th century as a neighborhood rummage sale. During one weekend a year, the residents of Park Point put their old furniture, amateur paintings, and other white elephants on the sidewalks and chatted with their neighbors.
As the world became darker and uglier, the residents of the Park Point District grew increasingly insular and xenophobic, even as their wealth and affluence grew. Soon, they were a gated community, know for their decadence. The annual Rummage Sale became more sinister in parallel with the world at large.
In 2095, the Rummage Sale is now a black market where anything can be purchased for the right price. Illegal drugs, undocumented children, military-grade weapons, etc.
During one weekend of the year, the famous draconian security of Park Point is relaxed. Outlaws and criminals from far and wide converge on Park Point and purchase whatever they can. The residents of the district have long since given up hawking their wares on the sidewalks as in the past. They now hide in their high-rise buildings while servants and hirelings do their dirty work on the streets below.
