Physical Description

General Physical Condition

He is tall and chubby with thick thighs and long legs. He has a long tail ended in two spiked segments. He has some level of muscle but mostly just seems soft.

Body Features

He has pale white freckles like stars and a burn scar on upper right arm (which is largely covered by tattoos). His tattoos include that of cactus roses with vines twisting throughout (right forearm), ferns (upper right arm), abouquet of forget-me-nots on the right shoulder, a falcon, with feathers fading into splashes of color stretched over shoulders, shoulder blades, and mid-back. He also has a tattoo of a weeping willow tree (left ribcage), butterflies done in white ink(left shoulder), a mountain range on a night sky (upper left arm), stars depicting the constellation 'the mage' (left forearm), a lightning bolt traced over his veins (left wrist), and finally a sleeping panther (left thigh).

Facial Features

He has a scar over his right eye. He has long, ridged horns that curl back from the middle of his head. He has golden eyes on black sclera and long, wavy black hair, with an undercut on the sides and back. His hair is usually held back in a thick side braid tied with magenta ribbons. He has full lips and a large, rounded nose.

Apparel & Accessories

Kareus almost always wears a long green cloak that looks old and worn but well-cared for. He always wears gloves, including when he sleeps, prefering to wear fingerless gloves. He wears a lot of handmade earrings, though rarely wears a matching pair. Instead, he wears mismatched pairs on various piercings along his ears. He always has his druidic focus on him, a short, carved wooden staff with engravings of plants and animals toward the base of the staff. Purple wildflowers and green leaves sprout all over the staff, and seem to flourish whenever he casts a spell. Kareus prefers to wear largely earthy colors and cool tones, primarily greens, browns, and some blues. He also prefers soft fabrics and flowing clothes, and doesn't care too much for tight clothing. He also enjoys lowcut shirts and long sleeves.
His clothing style is very gender-non conforming, and he wears a lot of skirts, dresses, and femininely-cut clothing. He likes flower and plant patterns. Kareus doesn't talk about his history much- if at all- and when asked will often give vague answers or just straight up lie. Pretty much all that's known about him right now is that he's from somewhere in Sciaca- and can never return.

He never fucking learned how to read.
In actuality, Kareus was taught some basic written Common and figuring, but had no further teaching on writing and reading until well into adulthood. He struggles a lot with both reading and writing, and is pretty shy about that fact.
He presumably also had a teacher for his drudic magic and his fields of expertise- survival, wildlife, sewing and cooking- but who that teacher was or if Kareus actually had one at all isn't known.

This is one awkward, awkward tiefling with anxiety, adhd, and autism. He has no idea how to talk to other people, basically.

Mannerisms

Kareus is pretty nervous around other people, especially large groups. He's always moving, keeping his hands busy or fiddling with bits of his clothes or jewerely if he's standing still. He tends to avoid eye contact, and has a habit of anxiously pacing and biting his nails. He's more relaxed and casual with people he feels comfortable and close with, but he still stims and fidgets often.

Hobbies & Pets

Terry "Tear your Throat Out", AKA Mr. Snuggles, is Kareus' current animal companion. Kareus loves to sew, knit, crochet, embrodier, you name it. Most of Kareus' clothes are handmade (he has very particular texture needs) To a lesser extent, he enjoys woodcarving. He also likes making small crafts, i.e. earrings, with findings from his travels such as feathers or cool rocks.

Speech

Kareus has an airy, soft voice, and when he speaks he's usually softspoken. He rarely raises his voice. He tends to speak a bit slowly unless he's excited or nervous, picking his words carefully as he sorts through his thoughts. When he is excited, nervous, or flustered, he speaks quickly, his voice cracks often, and he trips over his words and stutters constantly. He has a habit of dragging out his words. He also has a faint northwest Sciacan accent, one that he does his best to mask most of the time. However, the more comfortable he becomes with people, the less he thinks to pay attention to it and the more thick and obvious his accent becomes- this also happens when he becomes particuarly worked up and doesn't remember to adjust how he's speaking. Currently, with the Vox Anima, he's letting that accent slip out more and more.

History

They are totally no homo bros who are just friends and aren't in love in anyway.
If asked, Kareus and Leif will just say they met a little while ago on a job and stuck together after that- strength in numbers, and all. Although there's clearly a little more to their history than that, both of them seem pretty insistent that they're not /that/ close (despite barely leaving each others sides unless it's necessary.)

Relationship Reasoning

The public reason is that they just felt they made a good team and both wanted someone to watch their backs on jobs.   The truth is that they were both very lonely, found a friend and many commonalities in one another, and eventually built a trust in one another from that. They care a lot for each other.

Commonalities & Shared Interests

They share a bond in being tieflings in a primarily human and gnome populated country. They share a similar sense of humor. They both have an interest in art (Painting for Leif, textile work for Kareus). They both have a sense of Style and Flair in their choice of clothing.

Shared Secrets

Leif knows the basic reason why Kareus is wanted. Kareus knows some details about the circumstances of Leif's bounty. Kareus has told Leif a little bit about his history, and vice versa.
