Five Elemental Gods
In the world of Najarune, the gods were not the creators—they were created.
Long ago, the sentient peoples of the realm gave shape to the world’s raw forces through belief. From that faith, five gods emerged: Terra, Igniz, Fulgur, Lignum, and Aqua. These beings were once formless elements, but worship gave them will, identity, and power.
They are not perfect. Each god has flaws, moods, and contradictions. Their forms and personalities shift between cultures, known by different names and legends across the lands.
Before the Five, there was one Old God, vast and ancient, now overthrown and forgotten.
At times, the gods act through Avatars—mortal vessels who carry a fragment of divine thought. These avatars are rare and often unaware of their true nature.
The gods endure only through belief. As long as they are remembered in story and ritual, they remain. Without faith, they fade.
