Stoat artist signatures
The Stoats are legendary for their skill of detail and artistry, producing the most extravagant and illustrious pieces of jewellery, clothing, and artwork in all of Mythria. Just like most artists, Stoat painters also sign their pieces with their name, along with the date of completion, in the bottom corner of the canvas. However, the Stoats have a specific rule for signing artwork, that determines the piece's intended purpose.
Execution
Traditionally, artists will sign the bottom corner of the canvas with their name and date, identifying that particular piece to them and helping to both prevent forgery and provide authenticity. The Stoats, however, sign either bottom corner according to a specific intention:
Signing the bottom Right corner means that the artist intends for that piece to be sold at an auction, effectively granting permission for the piece to be resold.
Signing the bottom Left corner means the Stoat artist intends for that piece to remain as an heirloom of the one who commissioned it, and thus not wishing for it to be resold at an auction.
Components and tools
Signatures are written with typical black ink, but an additional paw print is used to signify that the piece of art is genuinely of Stoat creation.
