Stormlorde Urla

Urla was raised in a tight-knit community built into the side of an underwater trench. Like most Triton communities, her village served the greater purpose of monitoring a nearby portal to an evil elemental plane. Her mother a wizard and her father a druid instilled in her at a young age the importance of respecting elemental and natural magic. Like all young Triton's Urla was encouraged to pursue her curiosities and talent to contribute to the betterment of the village. While many found it odd that she had a fascination with fire, her parents especially encouraged her to develop the quirky affinity.
At the age of 12 Urla's mother set out on an exploration trip to a nearby underwater semi-dormant volcano along with 6 others. Through Urla begged and begged to go with them to see the firey lava she was still too young for the dangerous journey. A year later, only the young bodyguard returned in tattered clothes and half-starved. Presumable driven mad from the experience, to this day he can only mutter the phrase, "Chutulu awakens". An emergency gathering will all the local tribes in the region revealed a disturbing emerging pattern that points to the fact that Chutulu indeed awakens.

Upon coming of age Urla and her best friend Tova were selected to be ambassadors for the prestigious Emissary of the Sea, a diplomatic mission established to secure ties between the Tritons and surface civilizations. Upon her request, the Emissary of the Sea reassigned Urla to Tova's former post.

Mental Trauma

On leave from her post and delighted to deliver news of the birth of Tova's niece, her heart broke to find her lifelong friend half-devoured by Venomfang. Even after slaying the dragon and avenging her friend, the loss of her beloved friend is an unhealed wound.

Intellectual Characteristics

While intelligent, Urla is frequently oblivious to and confused by societal norms and customs of land dwelling civilizations. She strives to do her best to document and understand their strangeness.

Morality & Philosophy

Her moral compass prevents her from ever disobeying and harming her fellow Tritons. In her roll as an emissary she attempts to represent the goodwill of her people which can come across as bizarre and strange to land dwellers.

History

While in school they developed a strong relationship. Though Urla came to her magical gifts in a more traditional study of wizardry and Tova through divine patronage, that did not stop them from comparing techniques and practicing their craft together. When the two came of age the village elders deemed it best for the pair to submit themselves to the higher council as candidates for Emissary of the Sea.
