Session Twenty-three Report
General Summary
Since Lady Alexis and Avo were already on the second floor they finish off the last enemy, locate the prisoners, and find three potentially magical runes. In talking to the prisoners it is determined they have the energy to try and flee. Now the party all move to the second floor where all enemies have been taken care of, the prisoners have been freed, and there is a potential exit. While everyone was making their way up to the teleportation runes, Musalgot’s room was discovered with ten different magical masks and the massive rune that enchants his tower with the heat metal spell. While Musalgot goes toward the items left by the party before going into his keep to either take or destroy the items (he gets the wand of binding and +3 amulet of arrow catching).
The decision is made to try and disenchant the rune that is causing the heat metal spell to be ever present. Zappa and Guldrun ask everyone else to leave the room for their safety and are able to remove the enchantment. The decision is then made to take all ten of the masks and book it towards the potential raven tower that we are familiar with. Musalgot is hot on our trail, but everyone goes into the portal into the unknown of the portal.
A plan is rapidly hatched to try and trap Musalgot in a room that fills with water and barricade the door in hopes that he will drown. When the trap is sprung everyone goes back to Musalgot’s tower besides Lady Alexis who waits invisibly to see what occurs. Lady Alexis then sees Musalgot break out of the room and go deeper into the tower before she escapes back and gets more information out of Musalgot’s room while the rest of the party picks up metal items that are still there and start to head to an exit portal.
Before long Musalgot starts throwing fire down at party members from 100 feet in the air. The decision is made to continue to run instead of trying to fight since he was so far up in the sky. Multiple party members are hit and go down only to be brought back. With options quickly running out, Lady Alexis is asked to make sure the prince gets back to the Autumn Islands so his protector can increase our chances of escaping. As Lady Alexis agrees one of the magical masks recently taken from Musalgot’s room allows for magical wings to sprout from her back and she rushes to face Musalgot. In the confusion of running from Musalgot the party gets turned around and ends up back at his tower. The decision is made to rest in the nearby woods for an undetermined amount of time before either escaping or taking the fight to Musalgot.
