The party then splits again briefly while the more stealthy members go downstairs while Azeral and Zappa bring all of the dead gnolls inside, shut and lock doors, and cast two different alarm spells before heading downstairs. With all members downstairs another battle begins with gnolls coming in from two directions and a large flaming lizard-like warrior that was not taking any prisoners. During this encounter the lizard knocked Azreal unconscious, but his valor in combat gave Zappa an opening to land a critical hit with a cold burst that finally killed the beast. After making sure all of the party was still alive and there were no more enemies downstairs they made contact with Timber and the other people that had been kidnapped. Just when this happened Zappa heard an alarm for the front door go off in his head as a new threat appeared to have entered the top floor of the temple.
