Session Twenty-five Report

General Summary

The teleportation room activates as a man walks out to see the carnage from the battle and tries to make it clear that he does not want trouble. He introduces himself as Lloyd Winfor. After both sides lower their guard, it is determined that they will try to escape Highfell together. In the aftermath of their battle, Azreal uses the wand at the bottom of the pit and creates a staircase that looks to go to the ground. The only issue is that it disconnects from Highfell as soon as he steps on the top stair. With there still being a mental connection between Lady Alexis, Avo, Azreal, and Zappa the predicament is told to everyone along with the information that Highfell is about to collide with a nearby mountain. Without much time to lose, Zappa quickly goes down to try and get Azreal back up to the top of the pit, but Kaz unexpectedly catches a ride down there which leads to a new plan.  Instead Avo uses two of his potions, levitate and gaseous form, along with Zappa carrying people down with the fly spell to get everyone to the top of the stairs. The plan works and everyone is at the top of the massive stairs.
When they are at the bottom of the translucent stairs they set off in the direction of Thatchum after getting a short rest. Following between the two mountains in the saltlike desert allows for quick travel. After a full day of travel, camp is made and during the night the party is surrounded by two air elementals and an earth elemental. Even though the party was not taken by surprise because of a person on watch and a spell cast before resting, the battle was rough. During the course of the battle Lady Alexis, Azreal, and the new traveling companion Lloyd fell unconscious. At that time Zed told Fitz he could use his newly acquired mask to turn into an ape. This action shifts the battle and the elementals are defeated. Everyone that was knocked unconscious was restored and a full rest was achieved.
The air elementals uncovered a stone staircase that descends to an underground ruin. Upon waking up in the morning the decision is made to go down the entrance after inspecting the runes etched around the stairs. They’re ancient snow elf runes and they allude to this being a place of solitude and rest. Since it would be close to impossible to find it again if they left the party decides to descend the stairs.
