Session Twelve Report

General Summary

The party heard the dwarven man forced to be their cook yell, “For clan Elder-axe” soon after the alarm spell sounded. Zappa and Zed made their way to the top floor while the rest of the party tried to make sure the prisoners were able to get armor and weapons for a potential combat. A hunting party of four gnolls and a troll had just entered the first floor and killed the dwarven slave. After a couple of quick rounds of combat the party killed the Gnolls and allowed the troll to live. Soon after the troll left. With the dangerously low temperatures the group of Lady Alexys, Arthur, Azreal, and Zed went to get Trudy and Enar since the plan was to sleep at the destroyed Elven Temple.   This group went towards the location of the cart after taking the time to bundle up in the winter clothes that Arthur purchased in Thatchum. Upon exiting the temple the group saw a streaking red fading to black ball in the sky heading towards the southwest of the temple. When the group made the pretty quick trip back to where the cart was left they heard a struggle taking place. Lady Alexys went into stealth as the other three members rushed forward to see the recently freed troll standing over the unconscious body of Enar and talking about cracking open that egg to see what was inside. As the combat started the Troll quickly downed Arthur and Azreal then took an additional bite out of Arthur leaving him on the brink of death. Lady Alexys devised a plan to lure the troll away while Zed got Arthur and Azreal up. With everyone alive, Enar was saved and the group were able to safely make it back to the temple.
While that half of the party went to get Trudy and Enar; Avo, Goobert, and Zappa completed some tasks at the temple. Avo and Zappa started moving the elven bodies that had been laid to rest to the top floor by an altar. The bodies of the two Snow Elves, or Phase Elves, reacted to the red crystals obtained at the Henge of Lost Souls and upon putting the crystals on the chests of each elf they breathed life again. While the elves were being revived Goobert, questioning different aspects of his life, had a conversation with Timber about how he died while fighting Bullywugs. Timber, overtaken by rage, murdered a Bullywug slave. Looking on in disbelief, Brasir, a human farmer, and Arnarra, an elven protector, could do little to prevent the situation. Timber, shaken from the news, was zoned out while Brasir and Arnarra mentioned others they were brought here with were taken to a different location which the party knows to be Highfell. Upstairs, Nabeora and Virion, the Snow Elves, requested the party go back to the Henge of Lost Souls to help bring back the Lady in White. They also let the party know that the Iron Order, potentially the Brotherhood of Rust nowadays, were the ones that put their people in their current predicament.
Lady Alexys had a conversation with Timber about the way Irek gave his life trying to help people and Timber requested that Lady Alexys use the bow to honor his family. Goobert was still questioning what he should do and the simple fact that everyone does not go back to give information to a higher power when they die. Azreal, in a talk with Kass, determined after recent events they should potentially adopt a different set of beliefs when dealing with enemies. With the potential of going to Highfell, Zappa longed to find the Black Pearl and a tower tree seed to try and help his people. Arthur, dealing with being close to death multiple times and having concerns about Trudy had multiple issues he was dealing with. After a long rest in close quarters for safety and warmth, the party made their way back to Woodvale to return some survivors and get a plan to make the trip to Highfell. The place they have heard about for a long time on their adventures. A place full of mysteries, treasure, and enemies of unknown power.
