Session Thirty-Five Report

General Summary

The party is quickly greeted with the warm air and slight breeze while on the beach and seemingly out of nowhere a bottle with a note falls near them. At this point it is noted that there is a new and different person with them. A tiefling equipped with a halbert and longbow stands near the group and he says his name is Morcis. 
This is a note to help investigate the Iron Mines for Captain Hook. Even though Zappa does not remember much about this island, he does remember where his home is and requests the party to go that way. The two paths that could be used to get there include going into the jungle or traveling along the beach which is the option the party chooses. 
After about four hours of traveling the party and Morcis find several wrecked boats on the beach and Morcis goes to the biggest one he can see that has “John…” on the side and flips it over to find a staircase leading down. Everyone chooses to investigate and the first level is a sign that says leave John Darling’s place, has a pot of boiling sand, and has glass walls that have sand on the outside and on the floor. The party manages to find the key to the door after Trudy turns the pot of boiling sand over and two large sand golems appear that are weak to water, have a lot of life, and do not hit very hard. 
Over the next several floors in John Darling’s Inverted Tower has a map of the island with several spots with notes, a dining area that has a lot of ghosts at the table until everyone goes into the room. Then a room with another sealed door and key in boiling sand. The difference being that when this door was opened Alexis and Azreal were pulled down three levels while Zappa was pulled down four levels and landed on a rune that knocked him unconscious after a fire trap was sprung. 
While these three were levels down Trudy, Zed and Morcis started climbing down to see if they were okay to be greeted by a medium size golem. Alexis and Azreal came to the aid of Zappa before all three started heading up to help their comrades. Alexis being the quickest of the three made it up to the seventh floor quickest and was met with a green ray shooting her way. John Darling did not like people in his tower and was telling her and everyone else to leave now! 
At this point the battle with five medium golems and John Darling continued until three golems were destroyed and most of the party and Morcis were hit with a fireball. After that, Zappa and Azreal tried to get the jump on John Darling and teleported directly behind him while he was on the tenth floor. They made the correct call about where he was and Azreal unleashed a powerful smite dealing about half of his life in one blow. Unfortunately, things did not improve as it was revealed that John Darling was a Lich and with most of his enemies surrounding him he unleashed several attacks that would have directly killed everyone besides Alexis and Trudy in less than two rounds. 
At this time Trudy made a deal with John Darling to allow everyone besides two of the party leave, kill Peter Pan, and then Azreal and Zappa would be released. It was agreed upon and everyone else left. When the party makes their way out of the Inverted Tower Kaz appears and states that it has been months, close to a year that he has been separated from the party even though his party just got here about 7-8 hours ago. At this time the beaten down group need to find a safe place to rest and decide what they are to do in order to save Azreal and Zappa.
