C2 Session 14, Border Security Report
General Summary
Last we left off, our fine party of outsiders on their way to Greenest finally made it to the border between countries. Your employers of the intrepid ventures corporation were pulled in separately so the border guards could check their manifest and look over all the goods being brought in, so you all went to the other line and began going through one by one. What's your name, where are you from, what's your business in our fine country? Coolio answered flawlessly and easily made it through security as he was welcomed to The Greenest Empire. Unfortunately however, Cal was randomly chosen for a pat down and the guards found the volatile and highly addictive substance she was carrying, Dragon Blood. The guard Jonald however didn't immediately report Cal and instead gave her a choice. Give him the blood and say nothing, or let him report it and cause a big scene. Cal begrudgingly gave him the vial and then the other was found as well. DOOR saw there was a hold up and used message to speak with Cal as she explained the situation to him. DOOR tried to use his STAND to steal back the vials, but it was seen as it entered the checking zone so DOOR quickly dismissed it. Things went to a standstill for a moment but border security quickly resumed and Cal made it through, without her vials of blood. Cresie went through next and then Niles as they each got through without much issue, and then DOOR. As DOOR’s will overcame the magic of truth, Cresie used her psionic touch to lift a vial of blood from a distracted guard. DOOR’S will unmatched by the truth, he said what he pleased to try and get through security, but just as he was about to be let through, he accidentally tipped the scales and revealed his hand by using the word “maybe” in response to a question, displaying he was not bound to tell truth or lie. As such, DOOR was swiftly to be taken to a specialist for further questioning. Niles ran over as he saw his surrogate son being taken away and begged to come with him, which was granted due to some flexible language work. The duo were taken to another room where shortly thereafter, a sasquatch carrying a lute joined them. Julum as they introduced themself, flicked the strings of their life as a sheen of magic went over their eyes and a zone of truth came down. Niles’ will once again wasn't strong enough to resist, but in this moment of adrenaline and fear, DOOR’s will was so strong that not only did it break through the spell, it innately rewrote the spell causing it not to pulse back that DOOR had overcome it. DOOR had won the battle of the bards. Through strategic truth, Niles got through unscathed, and when it came to DOOR, he used strategic lies and was more careful with his language this time around as to not alert Julum that the spell had skipped over him. the pair explained their items, and when it came to the key they said it was a good meant to be sold with the rest of the caravan, that had mistakenly been put with DOOR. They then also had to explain the man inside the mansion, which went easier than expected and happens more often than you think with archivist keys going around.
With that, the party made it into The Greenest Empire. However, their employer was mad about having to truth to get what seemed like a stolen item through border security and has said to not have your EMPLOYER do that in future. with that out of the way, the party proceeded to Greenest City.
As they made it to the city Skargithra offered to show them around to which the party declined but Bramble accepted. Shortly thereafter Niles made the decision to leave and go visit his family who live about a week out from Greenest City, the party said some quick goodbyes and off he departed. On that note, the outsiders decided popping into a tavern would be a good plan of action, so they found Arty’s Brewery. DOOR admired the wanted posters for the Crunch Crack Pirate Crew and some guy named Jerry, and Cal asked about Arty about doctor's to which he said Aurora’s down the way is a good healer. But when asked about Benign Dismemberment, he, after some deliberation and questioning, asked the party's opinion on vampires, before stating he has a, friend(?) who may be able to help in a couple days.
The outsiders decided to keep that iron on the back of the fire and charge through the light rain looking for another. Coolio lead the charge of trying to find a magic store, and he found a huge tree stretching upward with oodles of trinkets and treasures on the busy first floor as well as further floors for potions and scrolls, The Spire Tree Emporium contained a wide array. Cresie sold the dagger she's been carrying for sometime. With the money received, she bought gangster sunglasses and a vial of infinite cheese balls, and while searching the store Coolio found the fated scroll for which they had been searching. So Cresie bought one scroll of Benign Dismemberment as well.
The party then had another conversation with Gus in his longing for attunement, clarifying some further information about who he is and what he seeks, most of his answers simply being the same as before.
