The Elemental Guards

Unofficial coalition of those who are trained in the Elemental Arts; ranging from servants to warriors to wanderers. They have no real leader, no real base, and no real way of contacting each other. They can be identified by secret passcodes, known only to those who have been granted permission to join. Though each Guard is governed by their own moral code and conscience, there are certain core values that each one must embody, or they will be expelled from the organization.

Public Agenda

The Elemental Guards are granted certain powers and knowledge by the spirits of the land, and tasked with using those powers to protect against invaders or those who wish to do harm to Suleria and its citizens. The Guards may assign themselves specific tasks in order to achieve this, or they may 'follow the wind's lead' and merely watch for any situation where they can help to present itself.

Assets

Varien's Inn: One of the only places where they are actually welcomed by the proprietor, who is known to keep their identities secret and to offer help to any who need it. Woodhall: The center of operations for those Guards assigned the task of guarding the Elemental Springs. Elemental Collection Bags: Used to collect and carry the water of the Elemental Springs with them throughout the continent. The Bags contain the water's power, keeping it from escaping before the bearer has use of it.

History

The Elemental Guards were founded back in the distant past, when Lady Silveria, Spirit of the Lake, led the first of the Selected Guardians to the Elemental Pools and bade them drink. After a period of training and preparation, the Selected were allowed to bathe in the Elemental waters, becoming partly Elemental themselves, and were sent out to protect the land from the Frenzied Folk. In order to combat their foe, the Selected Guardians were allowed to recruit others to their ranks, though these new followers were only allowed to drink from the pools, not bathe in them. After years of fighting a balance was finally reached, and both the Elemental Guards and the Frenzied Folk faded into the background. Both are still around, both still influence events in Suleria, but neither are really regarded as important by the common folk. The Elemental Guards are now, in fact, considered unnatural, witches, and dangerous people. Most will go out of their way to avoid them if they come in contact and they are spoken of in dreaded whispers. Most Guards will travel incognito in order to avoid being rejected by the people they protect.
