Significance

The Book of Light and Dark is an important document in the history of religion. It contains wisdom and advice for navigating the world of right and wrong, as well as histories of the Powers and their Sylvar. The book itself has been passed down from high priest to high priest for thousands of years, and is said to have its origins in Paradise itself. The Book is said to have been given to mortals by the hands of the Lord of Eagles himself, and though it has survived for thousands of years, it still appears in pristine condition, as if it had just been created, and its pages are not brittle.

The book itself is unique and no full copy has ever been made, though there are many quotes and passages from it which have been transcribed and distributed throughout the lands.
The book itself resides with the High Flame, but is technically available for all followers of the order to read, though courtesy asks that an individual wishing to read the book seek permission first. Its wisdom, or at least the parts memorized by all those of the order, is freely dispensed to those seeking aid or guidance, and many of its tenets and sayings have fallen into common use among the populace.
