Plainstown

Plainstown. Home to those who believe in fairy tales and a magnet to those who are duped by them. Mark my words, though there is something special about the beasts bred there, it has nothing to do with so called 'divine blood', or any legend about hags and hounds. It's all selective breeding my friend. With enough practice, time, and effort, you too could claim divine favor for your beasts. It's all smoke and mirrors, meant to attract tourists and customers.
  • Elliot Spencer, wandering merchant and agnostic
  • Demographics

Mostly Human and Half-Elf, with a few Halflings, and a smattering of other travelers.

    Government

Plainstown is governed by a Townslord and a small council of prominent members of the community. They decide cases of disputes, collect taxes, and generally organize anything that needs to happen in the area.

    Industry & Trade

The inhabitants of Plainstown are known mostly for their excellent breed of horses and hounds. The breeders and ranchers are the richest members of the community, and are kept afloat by a smattering of farmers and merchants who sell them the food and materials needed to continue their trade, and bring in outside customers. The beasts are the only real export the town has, but they bring in more than enough money to keep everything running.

    Infrastructure

Plainstown is home to breeders of horses and hounds who are famous throughout Archren and Ardent. It is also home to the Wild Stallion Inn, a few stables, a general store, an herbalist, a healer's clinic, and temples to Eires, Veir, Taron, and Vanna.

    Guilds and Factions

Taron's Hounds - The Group regulating the activities of those who breed hounds.    The Hunter's Mount- The Group regulating the activities of the ranchers near town.    The Merchant's Guild - The Group regulating the activities of the merchants in town.    The Talons - The prominent Thieve's Guild in Archren and Ardent who have their claws in almost everything.

    Tourism

Many people come from all over the country just to get a glimpse of the famous hounds and horses of Plainstown, said to carry divine blood stemming from Taron's herds. Most stay at the Wild Stallion Inn, stabling their own mounts next door.
