Wyvern eggs are very similar to dragon eggs, only much smaller. The faceted gem like shell is more opeque than that of their larger cousin and easy to mistake as a simple gem to an untrained eye.

Although the eggs shell appears to be made of precious stones this is not so. These shells are essentially worthless, nonetheless some of the more unscrupulous sorts will try to pawn them off on unsuspecting humans.
