Night of Fire

Execution

A ritual fire must be lit and kept lit throughout the night. Someone must tend it every hour feeding it a strip of cloth soaked in frankincense oil. About an hour before the sun rises the fire is allowed to die and anyone who honored the ritual will paint their skin in a mixture of the soot and more frankincense oil. These markings must be left for three days or until they wash away on their own.
